Horse Smarts: An Equine Reference and Youth Activity Guide (HS) is updated periodically with the updated sections being sold separately from the complete publication. If you already have a copy of Horse Smarts, you need to purchase an update in order to have the most current information. If you do not have a copy of Horse Smarts already, you will need to purchase the full publication because an update is only a small section of the publication.
 
The 2021 Horse Smarts update includes 714 pages. A total of 41 chapters are included along with set up instructions, index, table of contents plus 16 pages that were edited after the initial printing in 2017.
