The American Youth Horse Council (AYHC) is launching a new quarterly webinar series with content relevant to the youth horse industry. The first AYHC webinar, geared towards high school teens, will provide an overview of careers within the equine industry and a step by step guide to making career decisions to address the age old question of “what do you want to be when you grow up?”. The one-hour webinar scheduled for Wednesday, October 24 at 4 pm MDT will feature Christy Landwehr and will include suggestions for researching careers in the equine industry, understanding your strengths and weaknesses and investigating career paths. The free webinar is open to both members and non-members however registration is required.

Christy Landwehr is the Chief Executive Officer for the Certified Horsemanship Association, a non-profit 501(c)3 association whose purpose is to promote excellence in safety throughout the horse industry, and a Past President of the American Youth Horse Council. With an undergraduate degree in public relations and speech communication from California State University Fullerton and a graduate degree in mass communication and journalism from University of Colorado at Boulder, Christy has vast experience in marketing and business. She was the Sponsorship and Youth Programs Manager for the Arabian Horse Association, a trainer for Skill Path Seminars, and the Development Director for The Urban Farm that works with at-risk youth in Denver. Christy has spoken at numerous equine events throughout her career including: Arabian Horse Association Convention, Back Country Horsemen National Convention, Equine Affaire, Horse Expo, American Hippotherapy Association, Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship, Mane Event, AQHA Convention, American Camp Association and many others.
