A highlight of the AYHC Symposium, an entire day is dedicated to learning about the equine industry in the local region. Tour stops typically include equine farms for breeds or disciplines that are popular in the region, equine therapeutic riding centers, veterinary or equine sports medicine practices, and commercial enterprises. From humble beginnings as an ambulatory practice, Tennessee Equine Hospital has grown to a staff of 12 full time veterinarians, including certified veterinary specialists in surgery and internal medicine. The doctors of Tennessee Equine Hospital have been serving the Middle Tennessee horse community since 1991.
In November 1989, a core group of volunteers quietly launched a dream. They wanted to give wings to children with disabilities through a program which they named Saddle Up! focusing on recreational activities with horses. The dreams of that core group have grown far beyond even their imaginations.
Franklin Polo Academy is committed to putting on a series of world class arena polo matches that features top international and local players. The Academy hosts polo clinics and lessons from April through November to those interested in trying the sport first-hand without having to own their own horses or equipment.
The Colt Center
The Colt Center is a flat shod Tennessee Walking Horse barn located in Franklin, Tennessee that specializes in young horse development for the show ring. They also participate in trail riding and horse sales.
Brownland Farm strives to make each competitor and horse feel at home. The spacious and scenic facility caters to the horse and allows them to feel at ease just as if they were at home. The private, family-owned farm opens its doors each year to produce and host a variety of equestrian events tying tradition and excellence into each show. Brownland Farm welcomes everyone like family.
Add the Equine Industry Tour to your registration package! Tours depart from the host hotel. Transportation, lunch and drinks are provided. Closed toed shoes are required. We recommend that you wear comfortable shoes.
